BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
World Angling acts as a booking agent for the guide(s) it books. When you make a booking you are entering into a contract with the guide via World Angling Inc. not with World Angling Inc. itself. World Angling will use its experience, knowledge and insight to secure the most professional guide(s) in our Crew and network whom we feel will be a good fit for the type of fishing experience you seek. Our job is to use our knowledge of guides, their location and their availability to help you get the best fishing experience possible. Essentially, we are in the business of booking successful fishing trips with the best local independent guides we know. For all the details of this agreement and contract in which you are entering, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.
DEPOSIT / CANCELLATION POLICY: A deposit of 15% is required for every day booked. The deposit is completely refunded if your trip is cancelled due to weather or mechanical failure.
During the spring season (Feb 1 – August 1 ) guides are dependent on bookings for the busy season. Should you cancel within 30 days of your trip, the guide will do his best to re-book the day(s), otherwise deposits will be forfeited. If you decide to cancel within 15 days of your trip, for any reason, the full amount will be due to the guide if he cannot re-book any of the days.
During the remainder of the year (August 2-January31) you may cancel for any reason up to 30 days before your trip and we will refund your deposit. Within 30 days, the guide will do his best to re-book the days, otherwise deposits will be forfeited.
It is your responsibility to inform the guide of any health conditions prior to your trip. Please contact us with any booking questions you may have.
GOURMET FOOD FOR LUNCH: There is nothing better then having great day fishing except if you have an epic lunch to go with it! When planning a day on the water food is always an issue. Some bring their own lunch and the Circle K Italian meat sandwich is always a last resort, but what we recommend is a lot better!
Our go-to lunch spot is a little deli and BBQ counter named Tony’s. The best tasting cuban coffee, authentic cuban food and award winning BBQ and is prepared only yards from the boat ramp in this very local kitchen inside the Shell gas station. It’s a good idea to call ahead and order as the morning rush on Cuban Crank can be heavy!
Another tradition for us is a little artisan bakery named Cole’s Peace. It’s an awesome deli run by our friends Richard and Kathy and they serve up some of the best sandwiches ever to grace the cooler of a fishing boat. If you call ahead, even before they open and leave a message with what you want, they’ll have it wrapped for the cooler and your guide will be thrilled; especially the “Bear.”
Another great place is Tina’s Market on mile marker 10 in Big Coppitt Key. They have an awesome cuban mix and are open a 6am.
Further up the keys on MM15 is a very well know coffee shop named Baby’s. They have every kind of caffinated beverage you could want and a fine selection of ready made sandwiches and wraps.
Finally, there is the early morning option of Sandy’s Cafe when you need some salty bacon to go with your cafe con leche.
Talk with your guide and he will help you make a decision but these are my favorites. -Capt. Will Benson
LICENSES: Professional guides in Florida have a special license that covers charters so all the necessary fishing licenses are taken care of.
LODGING: There are a number of great places to stay depending on where you will be fishing from. If you want to visit Key West and experience the charm of “Old Town” and feel like a local you absolutely need to check out Key West Hideways. They are a vacation rental company specializing in properties in the heart of Key West. They can take care of your every need or simply hand you the key and leave you alone. Hands down, this is the way to visit Key West. They have a range of properties (full houses, cottages, & condominiums) and can find one that fits your needs and budget. If you are coming with a group or the family, you can get a full house with a pool, kitchen and bikes. We recommend that before you commit and book a hotel you consider this fantastic option of visiting Key West and living like a local.
If you would like help finding a place to stay outside Key West please contact us and we will help you find the ideal fishing retreat.
